Today is marked as a starting day for a two-week campaign time for Jakarta`s leader election. As already known, Jakarta is not a city. In the government administration Jakarta is a province, lead by a governor with five city mayors as his assitances.
The two pair candidates, Fauzi Bowo - Prijanto (upper photo) and Adang Daradjatun - Dani Anwar (left) will running for Governor and Vice Governor positions replacing the current Sutiyoso - Fauzi Bowo (right) which have to end their two 5 years-term on October 2007.
As many as 97 spots in the city has been designated to hold campaign rallies, consisting of 55 outdoor (such as Lapangan Banteng, Lapangan Petojo, lapangan Bomber Kawi-Kawi and Arcici stadium) and 42 indoor activities.
The poll will be held on August 8, 2007.
